The EMJ Companies
About EMJ

Engler, Meier & Justus, Inc. (EMJ) was founded in 1962 as a commercial interior subcontractor specializing in drywall, metal framing and ceiling systems. Today, the EMJ Companies are distributors of commercial grade building materials throughout the Midwestern and Southeastern United States. EMJ administers the operations of its various affiliates who in turn directly handle the sale, delivery and warehousing of its product line. Major product lines include commercial acoustical ceilings and walls, drywall, metal studs, insulation and exterior insulating finish systems (EIFS).

Although each of the affiliated companies sells to a wide range of customer groups (including building managers, home owners and corporate and institutional end-users) the vast majority of sales are to commercial subcontractors. EMJ's own experience as a subcontractor fosters a unique understanding throughout the company of the demands put upon subcontractors in the overall construction process; as a result, customer service is the primary focus of each division's approach to business.
